Prairie was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming, has four children and splits her time between South Austin and Wimberley.

Her roles in the Montessori world over the last 25 years have been: parent, classroom assistant, grant admin, charter school founder, lead teacher, program director, researcher, author, speaker, trainer, director, and teacher education program co-director.

She lived, worked, and developed Montessori programs in Africa and Asia for nearly 10 years, and assisted newly developing schools in Europe, South America and Australia.

Prairie moved to Wimberley while developing a Montessori Farm Program in Driftwood and fell in love with the place. She formerly considered herself the village baker and does still love to make fine pastries and baked items. She hangs around frequently with her buddy Tod playing music wherever they happen to be.

She holds an AMS Montessori 3-6 Credential, has a BA in Early Childhood Education, an M. Ed in Montessori Integrative Learning and was awarded the 2011 Thesis of the Year Award by the American Montessori Society for “Montessori Education and Learning in LIving Systems”

Some of her passions are designing, building and inhabiting outdoor learning environments with children and adults, anything artistic, theoretical physics, and creating a harmonious life of flow, learning, and joy.
